Faith in God: The First Core Principle

Welcome to You Are Destined For Greatness. I'm Shane Jacob, and I'm glad you're taking the time to learn more of life's lessons that we learn from horses.

Today I want to talk a little bit about our first core principle, which is faith in God.

Now, I have specific beliefs about religion, but The Horsemanship Journey doesn't advocate for a specific religion. We advocate for a faith in God. A faith in a power greater than ourselves. Faith in a purpose greater than ourselves. Faith in a God that loves us, that we can turn to for strength and power when we feel we have no more. Faith in a God that will be there for us when we feel no one else is.

The Power of Conscience and Integrity

We also believe that every soul is born with a conscience or a sense of right and wrong. And, that as we go about our days, unintentionally and intentionally making meaning out of what happens to us and what we do with what happens to us, we're measuring our behavior against this innate sense of what we do that we think that is right and what we do that we think that is wrong.

And the more that we live consistently with what we know to be right, the more integrity we show and the better we feel about ourselves. The more integrity we feel about ourselves because we believe that we're being true to ourselves.

Horses and Spiritual Connection

Now, a horse's beauty and nobility helps us believe in a power greater than ourselves. They can help us feel closer to God.

Why Faith Matters

So, why believe? Believe to have a sense of peace, a sense of purpose, to have more connection, and to provide the moral framework to guide you through this life.

Hey, it's a choice you get to make, and it's worth it. Like the old priest in the movie The Count of Monte Cristo said, “It doesn't matter whether you believe in God. He believes in you.” And I believe in you. You Are Destined for Greatness.
